The Caribbean Collection Takes Agents to Grand Cayman
An exclusive fam-trip hosted by Cayman properties and Spirit Airlines

BOSTON – November 1, 2006 – The Caribbean Collection, now in its’ third year, sponsored the first annual familiarization trip to Grand Cayman, hosted by Spirit Airlines, The Reef Resort, Coral Stone Club and the Cayman Islands Board of Tourism from October 15 to 18, 2006.

The program entertained eight VIP’s in the travel profession, ranging from agents that book small corporate retreats to wedding planners that specialize in luxury destination weddings and included visiting sites such as the historical Pedro St. James and the natural scenery of the botanical gardens.  The hosting Caribbean Collection members two properties on different sides of Grand Cayman – The Reef Resort on the East End and Coral Stone Club on famed Seven Mile Beach – and Spirit Airlines, now serving more than 15 sun & fun destinations in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico and adding several more in 2007.

“Although I spend a lot of time visiting a limited number of qualified travel professionals each month, hosting selected agents in person is the only way to truly provide these retailers with the information they need to sell Grand Cayman,” said Melanie Alexander, founder of The Caribbean Collection and president of The MAAC Group.
